Hi Im new
No, sorry SirJakEus, I won't be offering you a contract for some time yet, if at all, there's no promises other than we'll look at your stuff.
Yes you WILL have to be better than Starkk right now, before you even get over the line to be considered, so start practicing. You've got the basics okay, but so do millions of others, you need to be different and stand out too.
Then there's a lot of other requirements, such as can you be trusted ? Can you meet a deadline with quality product to our standards ? Can you do your own research and study, like at Uni, without us holding your hand for every simple little question. The contract is a work contract with legal obligations that your folks will need to sign as well because you're a teen.
This is an ADULT (ie over 21 years) environment, you'll be treated like one and expected to have done your homework, so read this if you want a contract, and do what it says. https://mso1.forumotion.com/t1517-how-to-appear-in-global-shuffle-2
Then read Going Pro, https://mso1.forumotion.com/t943-going-pro It may put you off thinking about being a pro, and that's what it's intended to do, not all pros are nice and not all pros like new competition to the field, because there is very little work for dancers and you'll be battling some who have years of dance classes since they were in primary school.
So fair warning it IS VERY tough, physically and mentally and very few actually last. Many will quit depressed and disappointed that after years of training, they still miss out. If you're looking for fast cash, look somewhere else, you won't find it here. Pros do it because they have to, it's a consuming passion that will usually last their whole life. If your committment is less than that, and you don't like practice, then don't go pro. Just do it for fun, and be happy with that.
Next watch our videos to see what sort of very tough competition you are up against to get a contract.
Start here
https://mso1.forumotion.com/t1418-official-global-shuffle-tutorial
Watch these GS1 videos www.globalshuffle.com
Then compare your shuffling with those shufflers, and these shufflers (vid below) for instance, Russian Shufflers in 2009-2010, then realise, they've got a 2 year head start on you, that you need to catch up to. It will be tough but not impossible. Note the creativity and variety of moves compared to yours.
You're talking to the originals and world pros here mate , nowhere to hide, so read our tutorials, post at least 3 videos in the next 12 months showing you can improve and have something in your shuffling that DOESN'T look like millions of other shuffle vids, then get back to us and we'll see then

Re: Hi I'm new and want a contract
One of the things we do here on the forum is prepare you as best we can, for what you will find working as a pro.
For instance working with a Director or more correctly 'under' a Director - stage/film/video/TV/Radio/Festival there's plenty of Directors who have the authority and power to hire and fire almost anybody on the production and will need a very good reason for doing either.
So beginners might find that a bit much for them, for others direction is exactly what they're looking for.
Most pro dance is seasonal, related to an arts festival or entertainment related work such as on stage for dance acts like Scooter.
You might get a few weeks rehearsal and costume fitting for a commercial video clip that's seen everywhere, but it may be years before you get more work like that. Mostly it will be short term contracts for a production run anything from one night to a few months,
but then there'll be LONG periods where you wonder if you've made the right career choice, and that's a good thing to do especially when you get to the age of thinking about starting a family buying a home etc.
It's a very difficult business, emencely satisfiying personally, but you'll need to keep practicing and working hard to get the next job as though it will be the last job you ever get, because in this business, that's the reality.
So you need a strong minded will and determination to get you through the slow parts, dealing with self doubt, wondering what direction to go next, wondering what you can do to get the next job.
The good thing is you're not alone, this is a normal cycle for the entertainment industry, whether you're onstage/air talent or management there's plenty like you. Shows and productions end all the time and new ones replace them - but not always. Sometimes there's an overlap going from job to job (wish for that) most times there's a long in-between-jobs situation and a no income period.
The bad thing is all those industry friends will be competing for the same jobs you want, and the closer to the top, the less jobs there are to go around. Now there's something to test friendships

Practice practice practice
Try some fluiding and lock and pop hip-hop moves to get some smoothness into your shuffling, check out these original break dancers about half way thru this live Herbie Hancock & Grandmaster DSR, 1980's Rock it set

I'm not sure if Starkk is following this thread, so you could probably PM him to ask for some tips, he could reply here, I'm sure there'd be others interested too.

hehe well you might want to be just like them, but until you post a video of how much you've learnt with the fluiding exercises, and give us an update of what you shuffle like today, not a year ago,,we can't go much further.
So no more 'these are my favourites' now it's time for YOU to dance.
So post your training vid, full body, good light, no effects, and we'll see what we can do
