From Myth To Manga
Shepherd started his career summer of 1965 at age 10, as a DJ for weekly summer beach parties called MotherGoose at the Mordialloc (surf) Life Saving club (Melbourne). He quickly moved onto professionally playing keyboards (Synthesiser, Piano) in his teens. By the time he was 19 (1974) he had recorded an album (LP), toured Australia and played the Myer Music Bowl.

From Sami (Norway / Finland) and Scot/Irish decent, Melbourne born Shepherd's passion for dance began while composing and playing live music for art dance performances in Melbourne's underground dance scene 1973-74. The passion continues to this day.

During the 1980's - 1990's Shepherd's artwork focused on new technologies including computer art/music, video art, TV broadcast art and robotics. Shepherd produced 65 episodes of underground culture TV (30 mins) show TOE - Theory Of Everything which were broadcast nationally (Australia) 1994-98. TOE gave away free PET brain scans as competition prizes, conducted for nuclear medicine research by the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. Short term Radio active particles made using their  inhouse cyclotron were injected into your arm and the gamma ray decay was filmed as it flowed through your brain. There was a good response from his veiwers with many volunteering for ongoing research. Shepherd had the first scan and broadcast it. A 3D model of his brain is now stored in their database.

This is my Commerce House edit suite 1995.

The long timber bench in the photo, came from McDonalds around the corner when they remodelled. It's the same Elizabeth St McDonalds that features in GS1.

That's my AMIGA 2000 to the left driving the digital text/gfx overlays and credit scroll/crawl effects, and Sony Digital effects transitions/color bars etc unit in front.

In the centre are (left) the vision switcher/Tbar, and tape transport/edit controller for the SONY BVU-950 series A+B Roll machines located above to the right, and 8 channel audio mixer. SONY and JVC vision moniters.
