NEUTRON DANCE
(Promo Clip) Pointer Sisters - 1985
Songwriters: Danny Sembello, Lee Willis
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
I don't want to take it anymore
I'll just stay here locked behind the door
Just no time to stop and get away
'Cause I work so hard to make it everyday
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
There's no money falling from the sky
'Cause a man took my heart and robbed me blind
Someone stole my brand new Chevrolet
And the rent is due, I got no place to stay
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
And it's hard to say
Just how some things never change
And it's hard to find
Any strength to draw the line
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
Industry don't pay a price that's fair
All the common people breathing filthy air
Lord, have mercy
Roof caved in on all the simple dreams
And to get ahead your heart starts pumping schemes
And it's hard to say
Just how some things never change
And it's hard to find
Any strength to draw the line
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
I'm on fire, yeah
I'm on fire, yeah
And it's hard to say
Just how some things never change
And it's hard to find
Any strength to draw the line
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
I know there's a pot of gold for me
All I got to do is just believe
Oh, I'm so happy doin' the neutron dance
And I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
I'm so happy said my hands, doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin', said my feet, doin' the neutron dance
Well, well, well, well
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
I'm so happy, said my hands, doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin', said my feet, doin' the neutron dance
Well, well, well, well
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
Oh, I'm so happy doin' the neutron dance
I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance
Who, ooh
Who, ooh
I'm so happy, said my hands
I'm just burnin', said my feet
I'm so happy, roll on with me
I'm just burnin', I can't help myself
I'm so happy, yeah, yeah
I'm just burnin', oh, yeah
I'm so happy, oh, yeah
I'm just burnin'
I'm just burnin'

Golden Girls - Kinetic (Remixed By Frank De Wulf) - R & S Records - 1992 .
>These are the notes posted on youtube. Below
With the label comments, please remember every small record label in the 1990's thought they were 'the' pioneers in electronic dance music. They weren't 'the' pioneers, they're about 30 years too late, it was new to a new generation and quite familiar to older folk who'd grown up during the 1960's/70's, but it's good music just the same.

R & S Records
Profile: R & S represents the initials of Renaat & Sabine, the couple that created this quintessential label of the history of the electronic music. Based in Ghent, Belgium, Renaat Vandepapeliere was originally going to call this label "Ferrari Records" after his new toy he was in love with.
However his partner Sabine Maes thought the name too tacky, so they agreed to use the initials from each of their first names: Renaat -R, and Sabine -S, hence R&S. In fact, the label was first named as Milos Music Belgium but just one record was released on this label.
It was one of the most important labels of the 90s. They had tremendous artists in their own right and they licensed very wisely, cherry picking some of the best of what the rest of the world had to offer.
Something changed from 1995-1999, and trying to grab onto the Drum & Bass genre, the label began to sink into decline. The release of "Air Frog" with Adam Beyer's remix surfaced in 2000, but by then it was over. R&S will always be the pioneering techno label and its legacy lives on.

SUPERSTITION - STEVIE WONDER In the Studio 1973
Uploaded on Mar 5, 2007
Stevie Wonder in the studio 1973 [Superstition]
"Superstition"
Very superstitious, writings on the wall,
Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past
When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way
Very superstitious, wash your face and hands,
Rid me of the problem, do all that you can,
Keep me in a daydream, keep me goin' strong,
You don't wanna save me, sad is my song
When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way, yeh, yeh
Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past
When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer, Superstition ain't the way, no, no, no

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS - SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY (EXTENDED MIX)
Songwriters: Gift, Roland Lee / Steele, David
I can't stop,
The way I feel,
Things you do,
Don't seem real.
Tell you what,
I got in mind,
'Cause we're runnin',
Out of time,
Won't you ever,
Set me free,
This waiting' 'round's,
Killin' me.
[Chorus]
She drives me crazy,
Uh uh,
Like no-one else,
Uh uh,
She drives me crazy,
And I can't help myself,
Uh uh.
I can't get,
Any rest,
People say,
I'm obsessed,
Every-thing,
That's serious lasts,
But to me,
There's no surprize,
What I have,
Fatal last truth,
Things go wrong,
They always do.
[Chorus]
She drives me crazy,
Uh uh,
Like no-one else,
Uh uh,
She drives me crazy,
And I can't help myself,
Uh uh.
[Instrumental Section]
I won't make it,
On my own,
No-one likes,
To be alone.
[Chorus]
She drives me crazy,
Uh uh,
Like no-one else,
Uh uh,
She drives me crazy,
And I can't help myself,
Uh uh.
Chorus x2 to fade

VENUS - BANANARAMA (1982)
Goddess on a mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
Summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name
(chorus)
She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus
I'm your fire
At your desire
Well, I'm your Venus
I'm your fire
At your desire
Her weapons were her crystal eyes
Making every man mad
Black as the dark night she was
Got what no-one else had
Wow !

"Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)" is a song by Brazilian musician Eumir Deodato, from his 1972 album Prelude. It is a jazz-influenced rendition of the introduction from the Richard Strauss composition Also sprach Zarathustra, most famous for its use in the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey (hence the subtitle, "2001").
Released as the album's first single in late-1972, his rendition peaked at #2 on the U.S.Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in early-1973, and #7 on the UK Singles Chart. It won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
It appeared in the 1979 film Being There starring Peter Sellers, as his character leaves home for the very first time in his life

Resurrected Radio
These series of posts titled Resurrected Radio have MP3's that come direct from the original source tape seen in the pic above, which I've recently found in storage. They've been through a lot in the 20 years since they were first recorded off-air mostly on PBS FM and some from RRR FM.in 1993.
So I'm doing some restoration as well to make them listenable again, Many of the indie vinyl pressings varied wildly in quality, and  much of the electronic music was 8bit recording direct onto CD. Note to Liz Millar, no I didn't record over your show, the tape was mislabelled
So first cassette out of the box is (mad)Rod and TVE 4. It's number 4 in the sequence of posts of TVE, the other 3 (above) came from digital files made a decade ago. So this is the first direct from the original source tape I made in 1993 in my Commerce House Studio, next door to Central Station Records & Tapes as seen in GS1.

THE SPINNERS - RUBBERBAND MAN
Songwriters: HARRIS, CLIFFORD J./CRUMP, LAVELL W.
© Warner/Chappell Music, Inc., Royalty Network
[Still transcribing]
Hand me down my walkin' cane
Hand me down my hat
Hurry now and don't be late
'Cause we ain't got time to chat
You and me were goin' out
To catch the latest sound
Guaranteed to blow your mind
So high you won't come down
Hey, y'all prepare yourself
For the Rubberband man
You never heard a sound
Like the Rubberband man
You're bound to lose control
When the Rubberband starts to jam
Oh, Lord, this dude is outta sight
Everything he does
Seems to come out right
Once I went to hear them play
At a club outside of town
I was so surprised, I was hypnotized
By the sound this cat's puttin' down
When I saw this short fat guy
Stretch a band between his toes
Hey, I laughed so hard
'Cause the man got down
When he finally reached his goal
Hey, y'all prepare yourself
For the Rubberband man
You never heard a sound
Like the Rubberband man
You're bound to lose control
When the Rubberband starts to jam
Got that Rubberband
Up on his toes
And then he wriggled it up
All around his nose
(Doo, doo, doo)
Guaranteed to blow your mind
(Doo, doo, doo)
Playin' all that music, yet keepin' time
(Doo, doo, doo)
Where in the world did he learn that, oh, Lord
Lord, help me get away
Hey, y'all prepare yourself
For the Rubberband man
You never heard a sound ...
You never seen him move ...
You aughta see him groove.
Like the Rubberband man
You're bound to lose control
When the rubber band starts to jam
Doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo
Rubberband man, Rubberband man
How much of this stuff, do he think we can stand
So much rhythm, grace and debonair from one man, Lord
And then he had nerve to wiggle his left toe
To his knee, got the feelin' in his head, y'all
Ah, come on,
Hey, y'all prepare yourself
For the Rubberband man
You never heard a sound
Like the Rubberband man
You're bound to lose control
When the Rubberband starts to jam
Rubberband man starts to jam
Movin' up and down across the land
Got people all in his ways
Everything about him seems out of place
Just a movin', just a movin'
Just a move-move-movin'
Just a Rubberband, Rubberband man
Just a movin', just a movin'
Just a move-move-movin'
Just a Rubberband
Rubberband man
Get down
Uh-huh

Re: great shuffling songs!!
Just to clarify for MSO forum members, you can post your shuffle vids here too in this thread.
We have a lot of international music industry executives checking out every single track, trying to get a handle on what music shufflers like. Because as Every Day I'm Shufflin - LMFAO has shown them, shuffle music is the next big thing and is a billion dollar industry. If they could only get it right
Â
From LA to London, they sit scratching their heads trying to figure it out. So do lots of major mainstream acts, so this is where they get the knowledge, and that's a good thing. This is where they get it right,
So for those music industry people, we call this DANCE MUSIC, simple as that. Fast slow, hard smooth, electronic acoustic, live recorded, old and new recordings, old and new instruments, even J.S.Bach and before, if it has that beat and it makes you wanna dance, it's dance music. But as Stevie Wonder sings in Sir Duke; 'Just because a record has a groove, don't make it in the groove'  It's not as simple as it sounds.Â
Dance music turns the commercial music industry on it's head. The focus is the feet, not the mouth ie singing / rap. So the music focus is the Bass beat, it's the grounding for a dancer, it's the constant.
Lyrics are optional, so the traditional singer / songwriter model for commercial music is basically redundant. Don't be shocked it's happened before with American Swing music, it is primarily dance music for the feet, the face is secondary. A bitter pill for such a langauge singer based industry, that can market a face and mouth as the product. For dance, you have a pair of feet, not models feet, hard worn, injured scarred and well loved feet.
That doesn't mean you can't have a singer, who can also dance. The Song and Dance number has been a staple for live entertainment show routines for centuries. But when your audience are dancers looking for dance, then the song (with lyrics) takes on a secondary role and becomes just the warm up for the main event, the dance routines.
For example
AMERICAN SWING: Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Nicholas Brothers, & Dorothy Dandridge Chattanooga Choo Choo!
So it's a new ball game for many, to think like a dancer, where the ear is not the main target the foot is. These are toe tappin toons, not sing alongs..
Think of the BASS as the melody. The focus of the feet.
The BASS sound is typically made up of a bass drum / rock kick drum sound combined with a bass note, usually electonic or a drone type quality, and some high end snare / cymbal type noise to cut through the rest of the music. That's offset with your Hook, the catchy phrase which can be a sound sample of a natural or processed voice, percussion, synths etc.
There's already a lot going on in a dancers head when they dance. It takes a huge amount of energy and minute physical co-ordination within a physical environment to do, compared with sitting on a couch with your headphones on listing to a track. So while dance music may seem sparse sometimes, it's more than enough for dancers to process while doing olympic level physical co-ordination. Plus in a live setting you spin around, so the grace and balance of a stereo field in the mix are often wasted at a dance party. But you can hear the BASS Everywhere.
For the rest of us, we just like the music and are really interested in hearing what music shufflers in different countries dance to. That's why we're here

MUSIC IMPROVES HEALTH, NEW STUDY
From Bing News;Â
Listening to music has long been seen as a remedy for heartbreak.
Now a study has found that in fact music can strengthen the heart - and improve the recovery of patients suffering from heart disease.
Cardiologists said the findings suggested that all people could boost the health of their hearts simply by listening to their favourite tunes.
Patients with cardiac disease were divided into three groups. Some were enrolled in exercise classes for three weeks.
Others were put in the same classes, but also told to listen to music of their choice at any point for 30 minutes every day. A third group only listened to music, and did not take cardio-vascular exercise, which is usually prescribed to those with heart disease.
At the end of the trial, the patients who had listened to music as well as exercising had boosted crucial measures of heart function significantly, and improved their exercise capacity by 39 per cent.
The group which only took aerobic exercise improved their capacity by 29 per cent. Even those who took no exercise and only listened to their favourite music for half an hour a day improved their exercise function by 19 per cent, the study of 74 patients found.
The measures of improved heart function included improved endothelial function, which is necessary to maintain the body's vascular response.
The findings, presented at the European Society of Cardiology's annual congress in Amsterdam, suggested that the release of key hormones while listening to music was behind the changes.
Prof Delijanin Ilic, the lead investigator, from the Institute of Cardiology, University of Nis, Serbia, said: "When we listen to music we like then endorphins are released from the brain and this improves our vascular health. There is no 'best music' for everyone - what matters is what the person likes and makes them happy."
She said other studies examining the impact of music suggested there might be some types of music which were less good for the heart - with heavy metal more likely to raise stress levels, while opera, classical and other types of 'joyful' music were more likely to stimulate endorphins.
Prof Ilic said: "It is also possible that it is better to have music without words, because it is possible that the words themselves can upset the emotions."
Although the study was carried out on patients suffering from heart disease, she said she believed the findings were likely to apply to a wider population, since it is already known that exercise boosts coronary health in healthy people.
Prof Ilic said: "Listening to favourite music alone and in addition to regular exercise training improves endothelial function and therefore may be an adjunct method in the rehabilitation of patients with coronary artery disease. There is no 'ideal' music for everybody and patients should choose music which increases positive emotions and makes them happy or relaxed."
------------------------------
So there ya go
Imagine what listening to your favourite music and DANCING can do for you Â

Britney Spears.  Baby One More Time. (1998)
... Baby One More Time" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears. It served as Spears's debut single and title track from her debut studio album, ...Baby One More Time (1999). Written by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub and produced by both of them and Denniz Pop, "...Baby One More Time" was released on September 30, 1998, by Jive Records. After recording and sending a demo tape with an unused song from Toni Braxton, Spears signed a multi-album deal with Jive. "...Baby One More Time" is a teen pop and dance-pop song that refers to a girl who regrets breaking up with her boyfriend. The song received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its composition.
"...Baby One More Time" attained global success, reaching number one in every country it charted. It also received numerous certifications around the world, and is one of the best-selling singles of all time, with over 10 million copies sold. An accompanying music video, directed by Nigel Dick, portrays Spears as a student from a Catholic high school, who starts to daydream that she is singing and dancing around the school, while watching her love interest from afar.

Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
How was I supposed to know
That somethin' wasn't right here
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
And now you're right out of sight yeah
Show me
How you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now
Oh because
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
Oh baby baby
The reason I breathe is you
Boy you've got me blinded
Oh baby baby
There's nothin' that I wouldn't do
That's not the way I planned it
Show me
How you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now
Oh because
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
Oh baby baby
(A ooooooooo)
Oh baby baby
(A yeah yeah)
Oh baby baby
How was I supposed to know
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
I must confess
That my loneliness
Is killing me now-
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
I must confess
(My loneliness)
That my loneliness
(Is killing me)
Is killing me now
(I must confess)
Don't you know I still believe

Written by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub and produced by both of them and Denniz Pop, "...Baby One More Time" was released on September 30, 1998, by Jive Records. After recording and sending a demo tape with an unused song from Toni Braxton, Spears signed a multi-album deal with Jive. "...Baby One More Time" is a teen pop and dance-pop song that refers to a girl who regrets breaking up with her boyfriend. The song received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its composition.
"...Baby One More Time" attained global success, reaching number one in every country it charted. It also received numerous certifications around the world, and is one of the best-selling singles of all time, with over 10 million copies sold. An accompanying music video, directed by Nigel Dick, portrays Spears as a student from a Catholic high school, who starts to daydream that she is singing and dancing around the school, while watching her love interest from afar.

Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
Oh baby baby
How was I supposed to know
That somethin' wasn't right here
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
And now you're right out of sight yeah
Show me
How you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now
Oh because
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
Oh baby baby
The reason I breathe is you
Boy you've got me blinded
Oh baby baby
There's nothin' that I wouldn't do
That's not the way I planned it
Show me
How you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now
Oh because
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
Oh baby baby
(A ooooooooo)
Oh baby baby
(A yeah yeah)
Oh baby baby
How was I supposed to know
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
I must confess
That my loneliness
Is killing me now-
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
My loneliness
Is killing me (and I)
I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
I must confess
(My loneliness)
That my loneliness
(Is killing me)
Is killing me now
(I must confess)
Don't you know I still believe
(I still believe)
That you will be here
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time.
