Not my best

Although its not my best I had to draw somethin shuffle related so this is what I could force out of my pencil in 20 minutes.

Very nice! Do you use a scanner or a camera to get from paper to computer btw?

I used my webcam, it kinda killed the quality, especially in the shading >.>

The same thing happens to me. :\ I usually use a desk lamp to shine directly on the picture and it helps. Although sometimes if the paper is a bit waxy, it'll make a glare and make it worse. ):

You know I wrote a book that takes place in Canada. It's called Hells Stretch. it's about 200 pages long and hopefully some day It'll get published

Ok whenever I tell someone what its about, without them getting a taste, they go like "oh, nevermind" So heres the sample, then Ill give plot and stuff.

".....Like pieces of heaven falling from the sky, white crystals danced through the air falling upon the slain body of his brother. A victim, of abuse, neglect, and in Satan's mind, failiure. Before him lie the motionless corpse that was all he had ever loved, and there was nothing he could do. Never had his strength seemed so weak, his power, ever so fragile, and his mind, so human. To the world they were nothing, and for that reason, Satan stood, as motionless as the snow around him. For this entire journey, Satan knew they could get home, if they just pushed a little harder. However this tormenting sight was nothing short of proof they were only dogs and the likelyhood that he was next crept up on Satan like black ink through his viens. So with all hope lost, all the fight gone, he gave in to the exhaustion, the beatings, and the hunger, and lay down next to his brother. Waiting for morning to come, if it would ever, he closed his eyes and let the falling ice bury him alive."

first of all, I wont explain how or anything but this is not the end.

Main characters.
Satan- 6 year old Alaskan malamute. Main character
Breaker-4 year old Husky/Malamute mix. satans half brother
Envy- 2 year old border collie. Satan's mate.
James- Dogs owners.

Main plot:
(its back in the day)
In nova scoatia , there is a team of dogs that carry supplies to and from logger camps.
Satan and breaker being the lead dogs. As the team reachers thier first town, they run into some trouble with people insisting on buying the dogs from James. When he refuses they kill James and attempt to steal the dogs, and end up capturing Satan Breaker and Envy who end up getting used as bait dogs in a huge fighting ring in Alaska. Where they are beaten fought and abused, however the dogs break out and attempt to make the journey back home.

Internal/secondary plots consist of:
satan's agression
Satan's admiration for wolves,
satan's pups,
and other ones that develop as the story unfolds, which I cant really say without giving stuff away.


Basically, is a VERY graphic novel about fighting for all that you know because in the ends its all that you are. With emphasis on things like the bonds between lovers, siblings, and overcoming battles within yourself to beat the challenges ahead of you. The dogs in this book are heavily personified but its still realistic to the point where example, they dont talk. They speak through noises, and body language. but to a descriptive point where anyone who's seen a dog before can understand. The ending message being:

Give all you have to give in all you do, because as you lay on your death bed, you will find you have nothing. And all you can hope for is that in your final moments you can come to peace with yourself, and hope that those you left behind can take what you left them with, and make thier own lives something they can be proud of.

I agree whole heatedly with that statement. If I remember correctly, an ancient Buddhist song had said; "What is there to dust, when you have no possessions?" because the Buddhist scriptures talk a lot about cleansing one's self. However, if one does not cling onto their regrets or lives too much, I believe that is where happiness lies. "It is only after we lose everything, that we are truly free". xD Anyways, I find so much entertainment in discussion of philosophy...

I find your writing very eloquent. It flows very well in the train of thought style but just a small concern of mine, and excuse the irony in this (for I am a hypocrite for picking others at it Dx), is the amount of commas there are. But then again, it is a finished product so maybe something to consider in the future? Overall, if the story is as thus, then great work and I do hope you manage to publish it. o_o If not, then nonetheless, great writing and I love that description and prose.

EDIT: Sorry if I seem arrogant in picking at that for I'm not better off. T_T Just something I wanted to bring to attention. ):

Final thing: I was shocked that the characters were dogs. xD

I honestly have been working on for years. At first, they got lost on one of thier trails. But then I was like, what is this balto? So I said they got kidnapped, and then the dog fighting, then they died in the ring, but it was too short. So I made them escape, but to make the journey harder I put the ring on the other side of Canada. Then realized, what about James? So I went back and had him killed. It's been alot of changes and editing and what I really think made me a good person for this story, is I did a lot of online rpgs. When you pretend to be dogs, and write a paragraph as if u were the dog, then someone responds ect ect. So I learned how to turn, "then they started to fight" Into, "He lunged forward sinking his ivory daggers into the neck of the pittbull, trashing back in forth he massaged his fangs through the flesh as the pittbull squirmed furociously trying to break his grip. But it wasnt long, before his jaws rapped around the juggular and tore it from the dogs neck." And then I learned making it so, rated r, made it more appealing to an older audience. Because, it wasnt just a dog book anymore, it was an adventure of torture and murder, perserverance and dedication and just teaming with things that interest all kinds of people. There's even some humor in it. Especially if your fond of dogs. Cuz they are dogs, so occasionally i made them act like dogs, for the enjoyment of the reader.
