We're just ending our late summer. We get a monsoon season between spring and summer in Melbourne, because we're in the path of a tropical jet stream from indonesia. So once the monsoon ends we get summer, but this is also the end of an el nino summer too, they're hotter than usual with nights in the mid 20'sC and day's 30-35C, beautiful beach weather, love it, so does everyone else in town, thats one of the reasons we love the place, but it can get a bit hot for me though I've got my fathers Norway/Finland side of the families genes, so I start to melt at about 25 C.

I'm planning a cruise tour for Norway/Finland though, I want to film some shuffling under the northern lights and spend a winter as far north as my health will permit.

We don't get winter in Melbourne, like in most of the north, we grumble about the cold when it's 10C - above zero Smile

Yeah definitely coming to Norway and plan to travel around the north for a while, traveling by sea (boat/ship) and train across Russia/Siberia etc filming for future GS's.

hehe yeah I've got the genes, dark hair (fair light colored hair when a kid) grey eyes, small northern sinus/nose, pale white skin, we're from the northern Sami language area in Norway and Finland (now northern Sweden) and I inherited the Sami accent too hehe so I've got to visit to try them out in the homeland Smile

I'm actually planning on serious genetic research as well, taking note of what intuitive responses I still have left genetically in the northern environment, foods, air temperature, ice etc. So for instance I'm 2nd generation born in Melbourne, but my skin still thinks it's in Norway and burns easily in the Melbourne sun Smile

So what other geneics are laying dormant waiting for the north to trigger them into action ?

I want to hear the old local songs too. I don't know the language despite my Bergen born g/mother trying to teach me when it was still banned in Norway, but I recognise the tones and dialects immediately.

So yeah for sure, I'll let you know when I'm coming. Smile

hehe, yeah I'm planning to ease myself into northern winter over a couple of seasons, Most probably I'll just end up looking at the cold outside, from a warm inside place, and just jumping outside for a few seconds to get footage of me in the snow. Smile
