I feel like i'm doing it wrong, like i don't know how to control my feet, i would start the running man, then i would start sliding backwards and then i would lose the rhythm. any suggestions? i used socks on a floor to start learning

Just take it slow and do it right. If your form breaks down that means you're going too fast.

Go at whatever pace you need to just make sure to DO IT RIGHT, and eventually you will be able to go faster and faster and not have your form break down. You've got a long road ahead of you, and all you need is to practice as often as you can for awhile. Don't worry, it'll click eventually if you keep at it.

Yeah same thing Czarina said.

If you can't record yourself (like me) then whenever you can,
do your RM in front of a mirror or window reflection to make sure your feet are going far enough behind you.

Also, make sure you keep your stomping foots's heel planted, a lot of people tend to lift their heels while slidding it backwards and it really ruins the illusion of running.

From 0:07 watch your vid and hold spacebar so it plays slow.
You should notice your sliding foot isn't going far enough behind you.
Also your heel isn't planted flat a few times. Try practicing a bit slower.

It's very good that you're turning and moving around by the way. That's really going to help you with spins and such.

Excellent start, just try to correct your RM at a slower speed.
Your T-step is good, I can't see anything wrong with it.

You are on th best way! Just 1 thing: try to get your knee straight in the 2nd step (when bot of your feet are down Smile). This will make your rm a little harder when you are doing it fast. I dont did it when i learned, and now i have to practice a lot Sad

thanks man! yeah i noticed that everyone has straight legs while mine are bent. but then i try to make em straight. it makes the running man a lot harder! however, i have taken everyone's advice that posted here and my RM is starting to look good Very Happy

yeah man. i wish i can just learn shuffle just like that and go around town shuffling haha. Allthough it is very tiring, i practice for 30 minutes everyday, and whenever im waiting on something, (like waiting for microwave to cook food) i just shuffle in the kitchen lol. i am having lots of fun and i hope i can get real good. its mostly all you guys who replied in this post, my motivation, and help. thanks guys

I do the same thing haha :3 I'm so close to being able to shuffle to my songs at full speed T_T Maybe another week or so Smile

By the way, try practicing with a few layers of tape on the bottom of your shoes for like 2-5 days, then without it for 2-5 days.
I haven't been practicing in my socks at all and I did the above, and when I increased the speed on my songs, I was shocked how well I was able to keep up.

Maybe it'll work for you too, who knows; I'm no mentor but it's worth a shot Smile

I'm willing to try it Smile i do however practice outside in shoes first, and when i'm done, i go inside and try to shuffle at home. I was actually surprised how light i was, i was basically flying all over the floor lmao. But the goal is to do it outside in shoes so, more practice for me lol. and i tried 120 bpm drum thing, to see if i could actually keep up, and i actually can but then i run out combination ideas for the moves lol.
