Hi from el paso!! land of rebelling ^.^ i came across shuffling when i saw 1 person started to do it in fast motion at a dance I fell in love with shuffle i beenprcticing was wonderin if there was a better shoes for me.. my shoes seem to have TOO much grip to the point i cant slide, for now ive just been using socks on tile till i find a better shoes that work =/

And PHATS ive heard about them and seen them are they design for shuffleing and help you move efficently or... cuz they look cool
and was thinking about buying before i do are they WORTH investing in?? thx plz comment sorry for bad english =P

Shoes...I recommend you to try with some "skate" shoes, they are pretty good and so slippery. DC, Vans, Puma Tiger, Nike SB, Kustom, Etnies, Globe, Supra, etc.

and what are phats what do they do for you other than just to look awesome? because Phats are expensive and is wondering if i should buy them.. are they like better then jeans because they are light or is it the materials on Phats help you shuffle a bit easier?

In my opinion, phat pants boosts the effect that seems that you are gliding so smooth on the floor. Also the reflective material design of your phats will give you your own personality when dancing.
Phats are usually made of denim or cotton, very good quality ones.

But if you are a shuffler that does some much variety of footwork like twists or another types of technical footwork that must be seen, they won't be a very good idea because it can hide your foot movements.

Nah im Just learning how to shuffle so i wont have major footwork yet.. just the simple gliding/ running man effect. ive been searching for a better price for Phats but cheapest i can find them is 160 or 170 dollars. ive been thinking of making one.. but it will probally look bad LoL =P

i shuffle in converse all stars they are flat and light weight and i own a pair of phatties i think that you dont really need to shuffle they just help you express yourself more

you can shuffle in just about any shoe type. I usually buy two pairs of the same shoes and wear one pair to hell and then put on my new ones. The old ones are for shuffling and the new ones just are there. If you have some trouble doing shuffling in your shoes, try putting duct tape on the soles of the shoes. That with give some more slide, or put some talcum powder on the ground if the surface is smooth but not too much.

Ooo i shuffle in Adidas and they work pretty well gotta wear them down to get the full effect, For the mean time vans work great

Im a big fan of my Converse and my Vlado's. And i agree with buying two pairs of shoes to wear one pair down for shuffling.

Good questions about the shoes, I've been wondering that myself and the answers were really helpful. For the cheap phats I was given this link by another shuffler, they are plain black and maybe not the "proper" kind of phats but they got great reviews and cost 38 USD. I was considering buying them and hyping them up with some reflective material. Hope that helps. (^^)

With phats, it's just a fashion thing. Nobody expects you to wear 20 year old fashion unless you really want to. Just wear whats comfortable for you when you shuffle, skinny leg jeans, shorts, baggy, whatever you want.

The msoPHATS suppliers have gone broke because of the global recession, it's hitting everyone very hard.

Best idea is to check out ebay for some stray phats

With shuffle shoes go for a flat sole with a sole pattern that gives least resistance on the heel and ball of your foot near the big toe down to the little one.

They're the spots you wear down with new shoes to get that sweet spot happening. So the less tread you need to wear down the quicker you'll get the sweet spots

The sweet spots let you spin and twist your foot without much effort, especially on a smooth polished surface.

For just hard stomping and maybe a little bit of shuffle, the big thick sole trainers with lots of cushioning and rebound are ideal. Runners/Trainers are made for running. So for starters with running man etc, just use what you've mostly likely already got to get into it for a few months. You might be just as happy with that

Then for more advanced go for a flat sole, it gives you more freedom of movement from the shoe design, they're more general purpose - they're usually less than half the price of the chunky soled ones.

I got a nice tips and I tryd it out my self...

IF you have a glue-gun use it under your shoes and it will get supersmooth when you shuffle
It will last for about 1 week but then you just rip it off (verry easy) and you can do it over and over again

The shoes will become like a wet plastic shoe under =P

Try it out it worked for me big time much better then ducktape
